The 15-Minute Huddle
🎯 Main Objective
To sync up, inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal, and plan for the next 24 hours.
📜 The Rules
On Time
Start and end on time. Always!
Stand Up
Standing is encouraged to keep the meeting brief.
15 Minutes
Strictly no longer than 15 minutes.
For the Team
This is a meeting for the Development Team.
3 Questions
Focus on answering the 3 core questions.
Not for Problem-Solving
Only identify impediments. Solution discussions happen later on chat or in a separate meeting.
🔄 The Flow
Phase 1: Kick-off (1 min)
- Everyone gathers at the Sprint Board.
- No waiting for latecomers.
🔄 The Flow
Phase 2: The Updates (~12 min)
Each team member answers the 3 questions:
- What did I do yesterday?
- What will I do today?
- Do I see any impediments?
Important Note:
Do not try to solve problems during the Daily Scrum. Just raise them so everyone is aware.
🔄 The Flow
Phase 3: Wrap-up (~1 min)
- Note down the impediments mentioned.
- Move complex topics to the "Parking Lot".
- End the meeting on time.
🅿️ After the Daily Scrum
Issues in the "Parking Lot" are tackled immediately after by the relevant people, or are moved to a chat channel for detailed discussion.
